THE BLESSEDNESS OF FELLOWSHIP
Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things which you know not of.
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
1 Corinthians 1:9 God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
Beloved, if we are called by God, walking in fellowship with our Lord, and are being prayerful; we need not worry about how anything will turn out, nor how we will get through anything. The economy, politics, family problems, financial problems, loss of loved ones…: the fact is that all things (not just the things that make us happy, but the difficult and trying things too) work (exert effort to effectively produce, accomplish, or construct something) together (in union, in association, mixed with, or combined with; whether smoothly or through collision or combustion) for our good.
We should pray whether things are going well for us or not. If we are not experiencing trouble now, trouble is coming. Trouble comes, but we need not worry or fear because we are in God’s loving care. Romans 8:35-39 tells us that nothing can separate us from the love of God; we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. Although we have trouble, we are victorious through Christ.
1 Peter 5:10 says, But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after ye have suffered a while make you (not your life circumstances, not your neighbor, your job, children: but YOU) perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
We must continue to pray and surrender to His will for us, knowing that God will answer us and move to do those great and mighty things we cannot even imagine, including changing us and our responses to trouble. We can glory in tribulations like Paul said in Romans 5:3-5.
The answer to our prayer is not always an immediate change in circumstances. The answer may be an eventual change in circumstance, or it may be a change in us and how we approach problems or unpleasant circumstances. You see, God's answers are not always according to our imagination (which is so very limited to our past experiences and knowledge). God's answers are according to his unknowable, immeasurable, and infinite wisdom and power, which is always at work, and it is not just in the course of time, but by the hand of our Almighty God, that answers and goodness come to us! To God be the glory!
May we consider all that we see and hear, but take our focus off the natural and focus on the mighty hand of God, yielding to His will, knowing that everything God allows is ultimately for our benefit. May we stay prayerful as we remain in fellowship, covered under the blood of Jesus and surrendered to His will, growing in our fellowship with the Lord Our God who has called us and is at work in us.
Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us; and who is able to keep us from falling and to present us faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy; to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen! (Ephesians 3:20, Jude 24-25)
