Because of God we live and exist. We abide, grow, and are fruitful if we remain in Him.

ROOTED AND GROUNDED

Matthew 15:13 …Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planteth, shall be rooted up.

Ephesians 3:17-19 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Colossians 2:7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

First Corinthians 3: 9… ye are God’s husbandry…

John 15:1-9 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.… Abide in me… I am the vine, ye are the branches… without me ye can do nothing… As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.

I may not be very good at it personally, but I like to grow plants. When I transplant from a small container into a larger pot, I look at the roots. I look to see if they look healthy. I look for any signs of stress or bug infestation. I fertilize, water, and look after the plant within my limited capacity. Some plants flourish in my care, others: not so much.

Unlike me, our heavenly Father is a Master Gardener, our husbandman, caretaker, and vinedresser. He created all things and He has the wisdom and ability to sustain all that He has created; that includes everyone and everything, every day. To know God’s love and to be planted in Him is a transition to abundant, fruitful, and even an eternal life in Him. He as the Master Gardener protects, provides, guides, and maintains us, both naturally and spiritually. We are blessed to be in His care.

Psalm 103:2-5 says Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities; Who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; Who crowned thee with loving kindness and tender mercies; who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; So that thy youth is renewed like the eagles.

These are some of the benefits of God’s love and care. He forgives, heals, redeems, pours out love, kindness, and mercy on us, and provides what we need to keep us strong physically and spiritually. He satisfies the needs of every living thing and has promised those who are faithful to Him, eternal life through His son, Jesus Christ. Our job is to stay rooted in him. No man can take us out of his hand (John 10:29), but we must choose to remain in His care.

So, let us remain in Him, continue in His love, and remember to give thanks for all the benefits of His loving care. Thank you, Heavenly Father, our creator, for all of the daily blessings that come through you! Amen!
