OUR HIDING PLACE

Psalm 61:2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

Psalm 32: 7 Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt come compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.

Our hiding place is in God (Psalm 27:5, 32:7, 91:4, 119:113, 143:9, Deuteronomy 33:27). He is our rock of truth, grace, and strength. He is our shield and our shelter of refuge (Psalm 33: 20, 61:3, 62:8).

Our hiding place is not a place to surrender to the enemy nor a place of cowering nor a place of trembling or fear.

Our hiding place is where we put on the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6:11, 13). It is where we receive the strength and nourishment that we need (Psalm 18:39, 37:3, Isaiah 40:11, 29). It is where we receive wisdom (Psalm 51:6, 105:22). It is where we learn battle strategies (Psalm 144:1). It is where we learn to use our weapons (2 Corinthians 10:4). It is also where we let God fight, where we are protected and defended (Deuteronomy 1:30, 3:22, Psalm 91). It is also where we are healed and made whole (Psalms 107:20). It is where we are delivered and made free (2 Samuel 22:2, Psalm 31:2, 2 Corinthians 3:17). It is where we are restored (Psalm 23:3). It is where we receive our joy (Psalm 16:11, 51:8). Our hiding place is in the presence of God, where we go with our earnest pleas in total surrender to God’s will.

We can always trust the Lord and rejoice in His salvation (2 Samuel 22:3, 31, Psalm 9:10, 13:5, 34:22). He will never suffer the righteous to be moved (Psalm 55: 22). Let us be encouraged to keep our confidence in Him and continue hiding and abiding in Him until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
